COVID vaccine clinics in the region this week

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit continues to offer one-day pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics at locations throughout Simcoe Muskoka, with the next clinics taking place May 16-22. Walk-ins for first and second vaccinations for individuals five years of age and older, third and booster doses for individuals 12 years and older, and fourth doses for individuals 60 years and older, and Indigenous people and their non-Indigenous household members 18 years and older are available at the following pop- up locations available:

Monday, May 16th

Time: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m

Tuesday May 17th

Clinic Location: Sandy Cove Acres, Banquet Hall, 908 Lockart Rd., Innisfil

Time: 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m

Clinic location: GO VAXX Bus – Coldwater Arena, 11 Michael Anne Dr., Coldwater

Time: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m

Clinic Location: GO VAXX Bus – Wasaga Beach RecPlex, 1724 Mosley St., Wasaga Beach Time: 11:00am – 7:00pm

Appointments for the GO VAXX Clinics can be booked up to four days prior to the clinic through the COVID-19 Vaccine Portal or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Center at 1-833-943-3900.

The Department of Health continues to offer COVID-19 vaccinations on a walk-in and appointment basis at Georgian Mall, 509 Bayfield St. in Barrie Wednesday through Friday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments can be booked through the Vaccination Portal or Contact Center listed above.

You can also get the vaccine at many local pharmacies or make appointments with some GPs and family health teams who offer the vaccine as part of their regular clinical practice. Pop-up and GO-VAXX mobile clinics continue to be planned throughout Simcoe and Muskoka.

In addition, the COVID-19 immunization clinic at Sperling Dr. 29 in Barrie offers walk-ins and booked appointments on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 10am to 6pm. Appointments can also be made at the Couchiching Ontario Health Team Clinic at the Orillia Soldier’s Memorial Hospital Kiwanis Building – West Entrance 170 Colborne St., W.

When visiting a clinic, people are advised to dress appropriately for the weather as they may have to wait outside before entering the clinic. They are also reminded to bring identification (e.g. health card, driver’s license, passport), a list of any medications they are taking, wear a loose-fitting shirt that allows easy access to the upper arm, and assistive devices if needed bring along (e.g. scooter, wheelchair, walking stick). Please note that all persons attending a Simcoe Muskoka County Health Unit vaccination clinic are required to wear a mask. Masks are provided at the entrance of all our clinics.
