Prime Video will stream India’s tour of New Zealand live starting November 18th. Consisting of three T20Is and an equal number of ODIs, the limited series can be viewed live and exclusively on Prime Video, the official rights holder to stream all men’s and women’s cricket matches played in New Zealand for the Indian market.
Fans looking forward to watching the bilateral series live on Prime Video will also get an additional glimpse into the legendary rivalry between two giants of the short format game, as the streaming service today announced the launch of a six-part miniseries, Taking Guard: India’s Quest for Kiwi fame.
“Taking Guard explores India’s storied rivalry with the Kiwis, dating back to 1967, through archive footage, soundtracks and graphics. The documentary moves seamlessly through various themes chronicling India’s tour to New Zealand over the years. Former game greats, which include Ravi Shastri, Ajit Agarkar, Danny Morrison, Simon Doull and Ian Smith, who lend their voice to tell this compelling story of these games from the commentary box, also talks about his experiences,” said the video streaming platform in a statement.
The new series was released exclusively on Prime Video today.
“At Prime Video, we are committed to serving our customers in India in the best possible way, providing on-demand access to the best entertainment across all formats, genres and languages,” said Chaitanya Divan, Head of Sports, Prime Video, India.
“We are now excited to bring them the very best in live sports and to offer a new viewing experience of the highly anticipated bilateral tour in November between the two titans of the cricket world – India and New Zealand.”
“Indians have a huge appetite for cricket and we are delighted to present the new exclusive mini-series Taking Guard ahead of India’s highly anticipated tour to New Zealand in a few weeks. With insight and analysis from cricket legends, Taking Guard shines the spotlight on the rivalry between the two countries, which rarely sees snarls, growls or heated moments on the pitch, but is full of intense competition and peppered with mutual respect.” Divan added.
This mini-series is part of Prime Video’s special programming initiative around the upcoming series, starting on November 18th with the first T20I and ending with the final ODI on November 30th. As part of the multi-year partnership, international cricket will be offered for both men and women matches played in New Zealand in all formats – will be available exclusively on Prime Video India.
